The Fourteenth Goldfish

In my book, "The Fourteenth Goldfish" by Jennifer L. Holm,  is a story about a little kid. His preschool class had a teacher that bought all of the students goldfishes. 10 for a dollar of course. And the teacher gave the parents a lecture before sending the kids home. Basically, it's to teach the kids the circle of life. Goldie was the fishes name. "Goldie was kind of original. Because Goldie didn't die". All this time, Goldie made it all the way up to fifth grade. Until the kid looked at the fish bowl, and saw Goldie's stomach facing up.

One of the signposts I thought of while reading was "Contrasts and Contradictions." later on in the story, the mom lied to the kid and said that goldfishes only lasts up to 2 weeks. Ever since preschool, the mom was buying goldfishes every time the fish died. Goldie, was unlucky thirteen. I think the mom was doing this is because maybe she doesn't want the kid to be upset and not worry. It was the kids first pet.

Behind The Bedroom Wall

When I was finishing up my book for "Behind the bedroom wall" I got pretty shocked. Korinna ended up talking to Rachel! And then Hans beat up Korinnas dad? WHAAT?! And also Korinna got a kitten! Aww. Also, I really liked how the book was written. It's words are very descriptive. I really got into the book. At first I didn't think I would like it. But with all the drama and stuff it turned out to be very entertaining .

Behind The Bedroom Wall Summary

In my book "Behind The Bedroom Wall" so far talks about a girl named Korinna. She lives with her parents and having a perfect life. Until, Korinna found out big dark secret. Her parents were hiding Jews in their wall! (I would've been pretty creeped out if I was her.) Once Korinna found out, she completely flipped out! She wanted them out of her sight and to never see them again. One of the few people hiding, was a little girl. Her name was Rachel. She was soooo friendly to Korinna. On the other hand, Korinna didn't want to talk to her at all.

I think one of the signposts are "Contrast and Contradictions" . I think this because Korinna told Rachel to not speak to her. Maybe she's doing this is because she doesn't want any trouble or start anything. She doesn't want to get caught and have a severe consequence. Also, I think she's not used to having jews hiding in their wall. If she gets used to it, she may be talking to them more.

Holocaust blog

After reading about some of the bystanders as well as the up standers, i think maybe people stood by and watched the holocaust because they were scared of what might happen to them. Maybe one of the Nazi's will beat them to death, or some other horrible thing. People stood up to the Nazis because people believed the rumors that the Jew's were bad people and smelled dirty and such. I would have done the same thing Oskar Schindler did. Tell all the Nazis i wan't my own camp and my own workers and help save them all by making the camp into a peaceful place for them to enjoy. I do feel bad for those who've died. They didn't deserve it.
