Summary of "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants"

In the book "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pant's" there are four best friends. Tibby, Carmen, Bridget , and Lena. They all went out and pondered downtown. They stopped at this one store and started looking around. Then something caught one of the girls eyes. These light washed jeans that were on the rack. They all instantly fell in love with them. They weren't too baggy, they weren't too tight. They fitted just right. Then it comes down to one girl. She isn't confident to fit in the jeans. They all told her that if it could fit all of them, it could fit into her. So she gave up and tried it on. It was a perfect fit. They all bought it and even made some rules for the pants. Every other day the girl's would pass down the jeans to one another and write their time in the jeans and what had happened. Some girls had some family problems and other boy problems. After all, they all managed to stay friends, and be friends.

Summary of "Call of Duty"

In the article "Call of Duty" theres a man called Jose Armenta, who joined the military and he was assigned as a Dog handler, Zenit. What dog handlers do is that they sniff out bombs that are hidden in the ground. When Jose and Zenit first started to work together, Jose thought Zenit was too sweet to even be a dog for the military. The next day, Jose thought Zenit was a great companion. He felt like it was meant to be. One day, it almost came down to an end. Jose was close to a bomb and blew up part of his leg. Zenit barked for help until someone came. Zenit didn't want to leave his side, nor did Jose. This article made me think that friendship actually last's long. Even though people treated Zenit like a piece of equipment, Jose treated him like a friend, and a companion.

Assessment for Lit

The argument of my article "Don't Buy Nike" is that people shouldn't buy Nike because the owners are treating their employees like trash and they aren't being fair and throwing shoes at the workers. The evidence is being told in the article by saying they are underpaying the minimum wage to the workers. The issue I think is completely unfair because the workers are putting their hard work into making the shoes and doing what they're told but the owners don't "appreciate" how much they're working in the sweatshop. What I found surprising is that the owners are throwing shoes at the workers and don't care if they get hurt.

The argument in this poem "Sweatshops" is that the girl was doing the same thing over and over again and she felt tired of it. In the poem it said "I work, I work, I work endlessly-" and so I thought that she was doing the same thing again. It was kinda different cause the poem seemed past tense. Back then people drank wine and ate bread when fed. The form of meaning helped me understand the poem by saying "Im just a machine!". The owners look like they just use advantage of them.
